About the position

The Vice President of Benefits Operations at Enwage is responsible for overseeing the design, management, and operational execution of employee benefits programs. This role ensures that benefits administration processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the needs of both internal employees and clients. The VP will lead the benefits operations team, driving excellence in service delivery, optimizing processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance while playing a strategic role in enhancing benefits offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of benefits administration, including health, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits programs.
  • Ensure effective management of benefits offerings for clients, aligning services with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency through process optimization, technology upgrades, and best practice implementation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a long-term strategy for benefits operations.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitive offerings to ensure market-competitive benefits programs.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of benefits vendors, ensuring cost-effective solutions and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws such as ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct audits and compliance reviews to ensure accuracy in benefits administration.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their benefits needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for escalated benefits issues, resolving complex problems and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with benefits brokers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of benefits administration technology and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance client experience.
  • Leverage data and analytics to track performance metrics and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the benefits operations team, ensuring high performance and service quality.
  • Manage the benefits operations budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new PEO clients, ensuring accurate implementation of benefits programs.
  • Develop and deliver regular reports to senior leadership on performance metrics and compliance status.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure benefits operations align with overall business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits administration, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, vendor management, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience with benefits administration technology (HRIS, benefits platforms).
  • Data-driven decision-making skills with a focus on operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
