About the position

The Vice President of Branch Operations is responsible for overseeing all credit union branches and the operational call center. This role focuses on developing new deposit and loan business, ensuring efficient branch operations, providing leadership and training to staff, and maintaining high levels of member service. The VP will also track economic trends and make recommendations for product and service improvements, while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support all branch staff, ensuring superior member service and compliance with policies.
  • Plan and organize branch activities, develop strategies, and monitor budgets.
  • Provide leadership to inspire high performance and maintain accountability for staff performance.
  • Instill a positive sales environment through training and monitoring staff in cross-selling and product presentation.
  • Engage in business development and participate in community affairs and public speaking.
  • Ensure audit compliance and quality control across branches, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to branch profitability through cost controls and marketing efforts, monitoring expenses against budget.
  • Make decisions regarding inquiries and requests, using them as learning opportunities for staff development.
  • Direct day-to-day operations, ensuring branches are well-maintained and preparing various reports.
  • Perform personnel actions including appraisals, disciplinary actions, and training of staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial industry trends and participate in strategic planning with senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of work-related experience in the financial services industry.
  • At least five years of experience in a managerial role within the financial services sector.
  • Specialized knowledge of lending programs and regulatory matters.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex documents and forms.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Basic math skills for financial calculations.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
