About the position

The Vice President of Clinical Operations is responsible for overseeing and directing the clinical operations related to workers' compensation, including Vocational Rehabilitation, Telephonic, and Field Nurse case management. This role aims to ensure the delivery of excellent clinical services, positive program outcomes, and compliance with regulations, while also leading a high-performance management team and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; oversee all clinical operations.
  • Lead and coach a team of professionals to build a client-oriented organization supporting Commercial and Federal customers.
  • Oversee structure and budget for all Clinical Services, including staffing, in collaboration with Program Management and Finance.
  • Implement contracted Clinical services and evaluate compliance and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Program Management to ensure clinical vendors fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, security, and government regulations.
  • Establish and enhance policies and protocols for case management and vocational rehabilitation services.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure evidence-based guidelines are used in policy and procedure.
  • Represent the organization to external audiences and contribute to strategy and budget decisions.
  • Recruit, hire, and train Clinical Operations Directors and Managers.
  • Supervise and mentor Clinical Services Managers and Directors.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of cases for quality improvement and serve on quality improvement committees.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Training Department to develop educational services for clinical personnel.
  • Ensure all contract-required audits and training are completed according to requirements.
  • Resolve employee conflict through problem-solving and conflict management strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Health Care or Business Administration required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 20 years of experience in Health Care, with at least 5 years in workers' compensation, occupational health, or disability management.
  • At least 10 years of progressively increasing leadership experience.
  • Customer Service experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Medical terminology expertise preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to present information effectively to various audiences.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex situations clearly.
  • Ability to solve problems involving multiple options and requires intermediate analytical skills.
  • Skilled in personnel management, budget, and resource development.
  • Strong people, organizational, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in building teams and managing personnel effectively.
  • Proficient in overall Business Software (e.g., MS Office Suite).
