About the position

The position is responsible for developing new resources and revenue streams, evaluating operational processes, and implementing strategies to enhance the overall performance of the division. It involves leadership in monitoring and controlling construction projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety and procedural policies. The role may be based in one of the company's offices or remotely, with travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division.
  • Interview and train employees, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems.
  • Lead, promote, and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop the strategic plan for the business unit and ensure its implementation.
  • Responsible for the overall profitability of the division.
  • Achieve client satisfaction goals as outlined in the strategic plan.
  • Manage effective hiring, training, and retention of employees within the division.
  • Maintain overall relationships with key vendors, owners, and clients.
  • Confer with the Safety Director on jobsite safety issues.
  • Hold senior divisional management accountable for resolving conflicts such as subcontractor performance issues and contract disputes.
  • Interface with staff to maintain communication and monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance.
  • Manage and supervise teams directing Project Managers and Field Superintendents, providing ongoing performance feedback and conducting annual appraisals.
  • Correlate team member's new ideas and assist in implementing new policies and procedures.
  • Confer with EVP/President on business continuity and succession planning.
  • Serve as a member of the Executive team, attending executive staff meetings and contributing to organizational success.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences on management and construction topics.
  • Visit jobsites as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 15 years of construction industry experience with knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint, and Construction Software.
