About the position

The Vice President of Eastern Operations at Mission Rock Residential is a strategic leadership role focused on enhancing operational, financial, and business excellence across the Eastern Region's property portfolio. This position is pivotal in driving innovative programs and strategies while fostering team development and ensuring alignment with the company's mission and values. The role involves overseeing property management activities, collaborating with various support departments, and leading a team of Regional Managers to achieve business objectives and expand the company's footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Property Management operations and performance for the respective territory.
  • Communicate with property Principals/Asset Managers regarding property and market trends, issues, events, and opportunities.
  • Partner with support departments to ensure effective training in accordance with Mission Rock Residential's standards.
  • Monitor property operating and financial performance throughout the year.
  • Develop and implement adjustments to strategic and operating plans as appropriate.
  • Embrace and uphold the Mission Rock culture, including the mission statement and values.
  • Ensure cohesion and alignment between portfolio execution and company vision through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with support departments and other regions for unified operations.
  • Lead by example in adapting innovative change and communicating feedback for better operational execution.
  • Create activities to ensure the operating plan is carried out and objectives are met regarding property maintenance and resident service.
  • Review individual property performance compared to competitors and analyze effective rental structures.
  • Develop a strong understanding of real estate markets and trends within the area of responsibility.
  • Utilize a hands-on management style to mentor team members and optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Mission Rock policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide leadership in organizational engagement and morale through team activities and events.
  • Develop marketing and business plans leveraging support departments' expertise.
  • Partner with Marketing & CX team to achieve leasing and occupancy goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to Owners in accordance with the Property Management Agreement.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing standards and laws.
  • Conduct property inspections and ensure preventative maintenance programs are performed quarterly.
  • Promote a culture of quality service and performance, prioritizing customer service.
  • Review and approve required reports and ensure operational reports are approved by Regional Managers.
  • Reflect changes for Quarterly projections and may involve in acquiring third-party management assignments.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in multifamily property management.
  • 2-5 years of Vice President experience.
  • 5+ years of multisite management experience.
  • 10+ years of management experience.
  • Third-party management experience preferred.
  • BA or BS in business or related field.
  • CPM and applicable State Brokers License preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Yardi PMS and CRM (RentCafe preferred).
  • Advanced skill level with MS Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong analytical/logical mindset and attention to detail.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $160,000 - $170,000 per year.
  • Remote work opportunity with required overnight travel.
  • Full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule.
