About the position

The Vice President of Software Engineering will oversee the engineering department, leading both the development and execution of advanced software solutions in the healthcare technology sector. This executive leadership role requires a blend of strong technical proficiency, leadership skills, and experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in integrating solutions with existing healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will manage multiple complex customer projects, inspire teams, innovate solutions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets the critical needs of healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the software engineering department, overseeing the development of front-end and back-end solutions for healthcare providers.
  • Manage multiple complex customer projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, processes, and best practices to ensure excellence in product development.
  • Collaborate with product management and other departments to align engineering output with company goals and market needs.
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement in technology and processes to maintain competitive advantage in healthcare technology.
  • Ensure software solutions are developed in compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations, including data security and privacy laws.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability, both locally and overseas.
  • Oversee the integration of our solutions with existing healthcare systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and user experience.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to gather insights, feedback, and requirements for future development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing software development teams.
  • Proven track record of managing complex customer projects and leading diverse teams, including remote or overseas teams.
  • Strong background in developing both front-end and back-end software solutions, with a preference for experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare system integrations and a thorough understanding of healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a variety of stakeholders and across cultural boundaries.
