About the position

The Vice President of Finance and Operations at Parents Anonymous® Inc. is a key executive role responsible for overseeing the financial and operational management of the organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of evidence-based programs aimed at empowering diverse parents, children, and youth. The Vice President will manage fiscal systems, budget administration, and compliance with accounting standards while leading a team to support the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, manages, and monitors the Agency's annual budget.
  • Directs the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Monitors revenue and approves expenditures, implementing adjustments as necessary.
  • Creates forecasts of revenues and utilization plans for the LA County Legal Entity Contract.
  • Serves on the Executive Team to ensure all billings meet goals for the LA Department of Mental Health Legal Entity Contract.
  • Oversees all financial functions including payables, receivables, and billing for Grants and Contracts.
  • Recruits, supervises, trains, and evaluates the Director of Finance and Nonprofit Accountant.
  • Develops and oversees the administration of all Fiscal Procedures and management of purchases and reimbursements.
  • Produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow Reports, and Grant and Contract Expenditures and Revenue Projections.
  • Plans, manages, and oversees daily functions of payroll, GAAP, internal controls, and finance and accounting functions.
  • Develops and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of assigned programs and service delivery methods.
  • Manages all Operations activities including building maintenance, equipment leases, and office management.
  • Utilizes Smartsheet to document responsibilities, deliverables, results, and timelines.

Requirements

  • Relevant bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in accounting or business.
  • 10 years of relevant non-profit accounting and administration experience required.
  • Experience working in a non-profit accounting system is essential.
  • Well-developed computer skills are necessary.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Culturally responsive and responsible, seeking assistance from supervisors when challenges arise.

Nice-to-haves
