About the position

The Vice President of Finance and Operations at Minnesota North College is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing finance, facilities, and operational leadership across six campuses in Northeast Minnesota. This position provides strategic direction for budget development, fiscal affairs, and various operational programs, while also serving on the Executive Leadership and President Leadership Teams. The role requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to inclusiveness and shared governance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership for college-wide budget development, monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Oversee fiscal affairs, facilities, auxiliary enterprises, and institutional research.
  • Manage information technology, risk management, and safety/security programs.
  • Serve on the Executive Leadership and President Leadership Teams, providing critical input on key college issues.
  • Ensure effective communication of statistical information to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • High level administrative experience in a medium to large organization.
  • Experience in financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and budgeting with demonstrated accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and human relation skills.
  • High level of skill in leadership, management, supervisory, organizational, and human relations.
  • Genuine commitment to inclusiveness and shared governance in leadership and decision making.
  • Knowledge of principles of continuous improvement and quality management.
  • Ability to identify and address issues diplomatically and sensitively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of computer literacy and ability to use technology for business process efficiencies.
  • Commitment to diversity and ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
