About the position

The Vice President of Food Service Operations at the University of South Florida is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the dining experience on campus. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and fostering relationships with clients to ensure operational excellence. The VPO will lead a team, drive business objectives, and implement innovative solutions to meet client needs while maintaining high performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper management of resources and distribution of services to customers.
  • Direct business to achieve high performance as measured by the company scorecard.
  • Build effective and results-oriented teams.
  • Participate in the sales process, including site surveys, presentations, negotiations, and contract approvals.
  • Analyze systems and participate in strategic planning meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in food service operations or related field.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.
  • Proven cost management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and succession planning.
  • Ability to multi-task and concentrate amidst interruptions.
