About the position

The Vice President of Lawrence Campus and Community Relations (VP LCCR) at Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is a leadership role focused on enhancing student success, fostering a vibrant campus community, and building strategic partnerships. Reporting to the President, the VP LCCR collaborates with various stakeholders to address the unique needs of the Lawrence campus, which serves a diverse, predominantly Hispanic student population. This position requires fluency in Spanish and a strong background in education or community development, along with excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improved educational and economic outcomes through collaboration with community partners and organizations.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive campus environment that supports student engagement and success.
  • Enhance immigrant support services and international relations, including ESL and ESOL programming.
  • Engage in policy development and advocacy to shape programs that improve student success, particularly for immigrants and refugees.
  • Serve as a member of the President's Executive Team, providing leadership and collaboration in support of strategic goals.
  • Plan and administer the annual budget for the Office of Lawrence Campus and Community Relations.
  • Participate in senior leadership meetings and provide counsel or recommendations as needed.
  • Lead or participate in committees and initiatives, ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Collaborate with leadership to define long-term mission and goals, focusing on talent management and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in planning and implementing key strategic initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and action.
  • Well organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
