About the position

The Vice President of Lawrence Campus and Community Relations (VP LCCR) is a key leadership role at Northern Essex Community College, responsible for fostering student success, cultivating a vibrant campus community, and developing strategic partnerships. This position requires collaboration with college leaders, community organizations, and government agencies to improve educational and economic outcomes, particularly for the diverse immigrant population in Lawrence, MA. The VP LCCR will also advocate for policies that enhance student success and support immigrant integration.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improved educational and economic outcomes for students in Lawrence.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive campus environment that supports student engagement and success.
  • Oversee immigrant support services and international relations, enhancing educational attainment for foreign-born residents.
  • Engage in policy development and advocacy to shape programs that improve student success, particularly for immigrants and refugees.
  • Serve as a member of the President's Executive Team, providing leadership and collaboration in support of strategic goals.
  • Plan and administer the annual budget for the Office of Lawrence Campus and Community Relations.
  • Participate in senior leadership meetings and provide counsel or recommendations as appropriate.
  • Lead or participate in college and statewide committees and initiatives, ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define long-term mission and goals, supporting them through talent management and employee engagement strategies.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in planning and implementing key strategic initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Ability to exercise a considerable degree of independent judgment and action.
  • Well organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
