About the position

The Director of Loyalty Cards and Database/Relationship Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping the customer engagement strategies for a leading national superstore specialty retailer. This position is focused on developing, managing, and executing comprehensive customer life cycle, loyalty, and database marketing strategies. The primary objective is to elevate the loyalty card program by leveraging consumer behavioral data alongside direct mail initiatives. The successful candidate will provide overall strategic direction for the loyalty card program, ensuring its development, structure, and marketing presence are aligned with the company's goals. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and communicating business requirements for all marketing systems that interact with the customer database. This is crucial for ensuring effective customer relationship management and maximizing the impact of marketing efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate insights from customer data into actionable marketing strategies that enhance customer loyalty and drive sales. The position requires a deep understanding of retail marketing dynamics, particularly in a multi-market environment. You will need to analyze customer data to identify trends and opportunities, enabling the company to tailor its marketing efforts to meet the evolving needs of its customer base. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage customer life cycle, loyalty, and database marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Six years of progressively responsible retail marketing experience in a multi-market retail or similar environment.
  • Three years of database/relationship marketing experience.
  • Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills.
  • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills.
