About the position

As the Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Design Miami, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of a global, Miami-based company. The ideal candidate will come to the position with extensive experience leading a marketing team for an international brand. Core responsibilities include the development of an omni-channel marketing strategy, the cultivation and expansion of Design Miami's VIP audience inclusive of global collectors and design enthusiasts, and elevating Design Miami through engaging content and alignment with emerging talent to attract on-brand partners and exhibitors. In addition to exceptional digital marketing expertise, strategic communications and partnerships experience is a must. The Vice President of Marketing leads the creation of strategic and creative concepts to bring in partners and drive both brand and business goals, managing and driving partnership ideation, creative and execution. They oversee both the Marketing and Partnerships departments in addition to global PR agencies and the creative team inclusive of Design Miami's Global Creative Director and Art Director. Candidates for this position should have a proven track record of developing and executing against an omni-channel marketing and communications strategy inclusive of social, email, website, paid channels, PR and events. The Vice President of Marketing is an excellent communicator and comes to the position with strong leadership skills and experience. This person is a confident, talented and inspired individual, equipped to motivate a fast-paced team and ready to take the Design Miami brand to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an omni-channel digital marketing strategy inclusive of social media, email marketing, website, paid channels and creative collaborations.
  • Partner with global agency on strategic communications and media relations across flagship fairs, including executive positioning, media relations and events.
  • Collaborate with Creative Director, Art Director and Brand Designer to conceptualize identity across flagship fairs and implement vision across digital and print touchpoints.
  • Oversee all photography, video, and asset creation for branding and creative direction.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Partnerships Team to conceive impactful proposals for global luxury brands and identify new, sellable opportunities.
  • Oversee the Partnerships Team and ensure the execution of partner contracts and deliverables for each edition of the fair.
  • Manage content planning and calendar for all digital channels, driving engagement and follower growth.
  • Oversee successful marketing for each fair, including advertising, ticketing, media/influencer campaigns, and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee all Design Miami events, including guest list curation, scenography, entertainment, and run of show.
  • Introduce new strategies to engage existing VIP audience and cultivate new audiences of emerging collectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in digital marketing, communications and partnerships.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to exceed revenue targets.
  • Deep industry knowledge and an extensive network of industry contacts.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and to travel as required.
