About the position

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Xavier University of Louisiana is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the university's marketing and communications strategies. Responsibilities

  • Ensure coordination and strategy alignment across all marketing and communications stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the university's mission and vision.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing, advertising, communications, and brand strategy that supports key initiatives.
  • Conduct regular assessments of brand perception and market position to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create and implement targeted marketing campaigns to support enrollment, retention, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • Develop the University's annual media plan and budget, ensuring effective use of media investments.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists and content creators, monitoring media coverage and sentiment.
  • Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.
  • Foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with university leadership.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing and communications team.
  • Manage the marketing and communications budget, monitoring the effectiveness of investments and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect the university's reputation.
  • Manage the university's partners, vendors, and agency of record.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably in higher education.
  • Proven track record of successful brand management and strategic communications.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience in data-driven marketing and utilizing analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a competitive salary range of $111K - $141K per year.
