About the position

Colwen Hotels is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Marketing & E-Commerce to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will oversee all marketing, e-commerce, channel management, and creative functions across our portfolio of 42+ hotels, event venues, and restaurants. The VP of Marketing will work closely with the Owners and C-Level Senior Executives to shape and deliver the brand's marketing and business objectives. This role is crucial in driving the company's brand messaging and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute the company's brand messaging, positioning, and overall marketing strategies.
  • Lead digital marketing, e-commerce, media advertising, paid search, and display marketing efforts while managing an annual media budget for each property.
  • Oversee the performance, ROI measurement, and optimization of all marketing initiatives for a diverse portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and event venues.
  • Manage relationships with third-party agencies for digital advertising, creative design, social media, website development, and public relations.
  • Lead an integrated marketing team, ensuring seamless collaboration with sales and revenue management to create compelling campaigns and selling tools.
  • Develop and execute cohesive omni-channel storytelling through branded creative assets, collateral, and channel strategies that align with overall business goals.
  • Manage reputation and reviews across platforms, ensuring consistent standards for responses and public engagement.
  • Strategize, implement, and manage content for social media channels, driving audience engagement, targeted prospecting, and remarketing ad campaigns.
  • Create and manage annual marketing plans, providing accurate expenditure forecasts based on market conditions and sales initiatives.
  • Track, report, and optimize the impact and ROI of all marketing campaigns, including the successful launch of new properties under tight development timelines.
  • Spearhead rebranding efforts, website builds, email marketing programs, social media strategies, and booking platform integration.
  • Maintain expertise in key industry systems and marketing platforms such as CRM, SEO, Metasearch, and digital ad networks.
  • Oversee public relations efforts, including press releases, media coverage, and crisis management.
  • Manage photography and photoshoots, overseeing creative direction, logistics, and execution to ensure high-quality images that align with brand standards and marketing goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, e-commerce, social media strategy, and omni-channel storytelling.
  • Strong background in managing third-party agencies and overseeing media budgets.
  • Excellent strategic planning, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with major hotel brands (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Choice, Wyndham) is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable results and manage multi-million-dollar marketing budgets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical proficiency in advertising platforms such as Expedia TravelAds, Koddi, Metasearch, Booking Network Ads, and Google Ads.
  • Familiarity with brand marketing and e-commerce systems such as Marriott PLUS, Hilton ELEVATE, IHG BOOST, Wyndham LEVELUP, and Choice REVUP.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Squarespace Email Campaigns and MailChimp.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics for tracking, measuring, and optimizing campaign performance.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design platforms for branding and creative production.
  • Experience with website management and development using Squarespace, WordPress, or similar platforms.
