About the position

Shoe Sensation, Inc. is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for the position of Vice President of Marketing. This role is pivotal as the company navigates a critical time in the retail industry, focusing on bringing popular shoe brands to small-town America. The VP of Marketing will be responsible for the planning, development, and execution of the company's marketing, advertising, and e-commerce strategies. This includes overseeing direct marketing, branding, advertising, community relations, user experience, customer relationship management, and loyalty programs. The successful candidate will lead a team of marketing professionals, emphasizing mentoring, coaching, and talent development. Collaboration with various departments, including merchandising, store operations, and real estate, will be essential to ensure brand effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a multi-million-dollar marketing budget and will be ROI-driven, utilizing an analytical approach to budget allocation. They will be accomplished across multiple marketing disciplines, including advertising through direct channels such as direct mail, online, print, radio, and social media. The VP of Marketing will also be knowledgeable about e-commerce practices, with at least five years of experience in startup and full development. They will be comfortable with customer-facing technology and will have experience in Grand Opening strategies, including press releases and live events. This role requires a strong leader who is mission-driven, customer-focused, and committed to achieving sales goals while fostering a supportive and innovative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and advance the planning, development, and execution of marketing, advertising, and e-commerce efforts.
  • Lead a team of marketing professionals, focusing on mentoring, coaching, and talent development.
  • Collaborate closely with vendors, merchandising, store operations, real estate, and field employees to ensure brand effectiveness.
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar marketing budget with an ROI-driven approach.
  • Develop and implement advertising strategies through direct channels including direct mail, online, print, radio, and social media.
  • Oversee private brand development and brand collaboration efforts.
  • Interpret market data and lead strategy planning discussions.
  • Implement Grand Opening strategies including press releases, live remotes, and ribbon cuttings.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in retail and/or restaurant marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing.
  • At least 5 years of e-commerce experience, including startup and full development.
  • Ability to interpret market data and lead strategy planning discussions.
  • Strong track record of developing and promoting talent.
  • Strong planning, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in graphic design and user experience.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management systems.
  • Experience in community relations and loyalty programs.
