About the position

The Vice President of Marketing at Disc Medicine will play a crucial role in transitioning the company from a development-stage organization to a commercial entity. This position involves developing and leading global marketing strategies to prepare for the commercialization of the company's first product, focusing on brand strategy, marketing execution, and collaboration across functions to drive brand awareness and product adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-commercialization marketing activities including brand planning and execution, patient identification and digital efforts
  • Create a comprehensive marketing plan aligned with the company's overall goals, including brand positioning, key messaging, and targeted audiences
  • Partner with medical affairs and patient advocacy on patient educational initiatives
  • Build relationships with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and healthcare professionals
  • Develop patient marketing strategies, plans and resources needed
  • Develop brand positioning and marketing programs based on customer insights
  • Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
  • Establish clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing plan implementation
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and retain a team of highly skilled marketing professionals
  • Contribute to an efficient and compliant medical and legal review process
  • Partner with legal and compliance to ensure the implementation of compliant messages and programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or another Advanced Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of life sciences industry experience which includes significant within the marketing function
  • Extensive working knowledge of strategic and brand marketing and omni-channel approaches
  • Visionary and innovative mindset with a passion for driving change and growth
  • Strong command of scientific concepts and demonstrated ability to build relationships with KOLs and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with a hands-on approach
  • Proven track record of developing talent and being a culture champion
  • Experience with key aspects of US regulatory filings and label development
  • Proven track record of successfully leading product launches, globally and in the US
  • Strong preference given to candidates with hematology and rare disease experience
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to spearhead the commercial strategy and launch teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments
