About the position

The Vice President of Marketing at Solution Tree is a pivotal role within the senior leadership team, responsible for driving the company's marketing strategy to achieve revenue and profit goals. This position requires a dynamic leader who can apply their extensive experience and creativity to develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans that align with the company's mission to transform education worldwide. The Vice President will report directly to the Executive Vice President and will collaborate with various departments to ensure that marketing initiatives support the overall business objectives. In this role, the Vice President of Marketing will oversee the creation and execution of a full spectrum of marketing, branding, and communications activities. This includes establishing both short and long-range strategic marketing strategies aimed at increasing sales and building brand equity. The successful candidate will monitor market conditions and competitive strategies, adjusting marketing plans as necessary to expand market share and maintain existing client relationships. The Vice President will also be responsible for leading a team of approximately 40 marketing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. They will champion the launch and promotion of products through both traditional and non-traditional channels, ensuring that all initiatives provide a strong return on investment and enhance brand equity. Additionally, the Vice President will maintain a tight control over the marketing budget and financial aspects of the marketing function, ensuring that all spending aligns with anticipated returns and incorporates key learnings from market activities. This is a full-time remote position, with some travel required for leadership meetings, departmental gatherings, and events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of leading high-performance teams in a fast-paced environment. The role demands a self-starter who can effectively manage personal obligations while maintaining productivity in a remote work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive marketing support resulting in meeting company goals and objectives for revenue and profit
  • Act as a marketing advocate to the executive team to ensure engagement in the strategic marketing agenda
  • Collaborate with other business units to develop annual goals and objectives for product and channel marketing plans
  • Establish both short and long-range strategic marketing strategies to achieve corporate objectives
  • Develop and implement a corporate strategic marketing plan addressing all products, content, partners, distribution channels, and customer touch-points
  • Lead and drive the company's enterprise marketing strategy
  • Sustain and grow overall revenue and maintain a solid financial position by collaborating with all departments
  • Monitor current market conditions to ensure business development strategies reflect changing environments
  • Monitor competitive strategies and evaluate Solution Tree's positioning, amending marketing strategies as needed
  • Increase marketing intelligence through continuous development and maintenance of marketing systems and customer data
  • Develop tactics to maintain existing client relationships and market share, expand into new markets, and innovate rapidly
  • Champion the launch, promotion, and marketing of products via traditional and non-traditional channels
  • Provide strong leadership that establishes credibility through clear articulation of company objectives and strategies
  • Maintain control and understanding of all financial aspects of the marketing function
  • Act as the ambassador for the brand to ensure customer touchpoints build brand equity
  • Drive continuous improvement of the marketing team structure and operations
  • Manage all marketing programs and channels for an integrated approach to reach customers
  • Ensure all customer communications are integrated into the overall marketing strategy
  • Set a clear web strategy and metrics for individual marketing approaches
  • Create a social media marketing strategy and metrics for communication connections
  • Monitor overall marketing plans to ensure spending reflects anticipated return
  • Develop and enhance industry relationships to foster existing and new business
  • Manage and develop the talent of the marketing team

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or related discipline, with an MBA preferred
  • 10+ years experience in a senior-level managerial marketing role
  • Demonstrated track record in a similar or relevant industry
  • Experience creating strategic marketing plans and delivering marketing services
  • Management of traditional and non-traditional advertising media
  • Building brand equity and establishing appropriate metrics
  • Extensive marketing experience across all marketing disciplines
  • Experience with sales and marketing budgets, P&L, and forecasting
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience with educational marketing cycles, trends, and issues preferred
  • Proven track record of leveraging technology and data to enhance marketing services
  • Demonstrated track record of creating and leading high-performance teams
  • Excellent communications skills, including interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively across all functions
