About the position

Avocet Hospitality is seeking a visionary leader and strategic thinker to join its team as the Vice President of Marketing. This critical role involves overseeing the marketing efforts for Avocet Hospitality and its portfolio, which includes four hotels and eleven food and beverage outlets. The VP of Marketing will drive brand growth, market share, and overall business success through creative thinking and strategic execution, working closely with executive management teams. The position requires the development and management of comprehensive marketing plans and budgets to achieve sustainable, profitable growth while ensuring superior customer experiences through data insights and analytics. Additionally, the VP will serve as an innovation catalyst, experimenting with new technology platforms and marketing techniques to position the company for long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute comprehensive and innovative marketing strategies that align with the company's business objectives and long-term growth.
  • Drive market analysis, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform decision-making and identify new opportunities.
  • Lead brand development initiatives to ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing marketing team and manage third-party agencies.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, creativity, innovation, and accountability within the marketing department.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company's brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities, customer needs, and emerging trends.
  • Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and online advertising.
  • Drive customer engagement strategies to enhance customer experience, foster brand loyalty, and increase customer lifetime value.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in marketing and/or advertising.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Ability to develop long-term strategies that align with company goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
