About the position

M3 Wake Research, an M3USA Company, is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead the marketing vision, strategy, and execution for the organization. This role is pivotal in establishing M3 Wake Research as the preferred research site network for patients, partners, and study sponsors/CRO stakeholders. The Vice President will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing, promotional, and communication strategies aimed at driving lead generation and participant enrollment in research studies, while also enhancing brand awareness among patients and stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage the marketing budget, evaluate marketing activities through ROI and performance metrics, and ensure that marketing efforts contribute effectively to revenue generation. This position requires a strong leader who can manage a team of marketing professionals across various channels, including digital, social media, content, and traditional marketing programs. A key aspect of the role involves leveraging marketing data and analytics to track performance, make data-driven decisions, and optimize marketing strategies. Additionally, the Vice President will oversee vendor relationships, manage special projects, and support corporate communications and public relations efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking and tactical execution, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and foster collaboration across departments. This position is remote, with occasional travel required for leadership meetings, estimated at 5-8%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing, promotional, and communications strategies that drive lead generation and participant enrollment in research studies.
  • Manage marketing budget and evaluate marketing activities using ROI, productivity, and performance metrics.
  • Accurately measure and optimize marketing's contribution to revenue.
  • Manage a team of marketing professionals executing digital, social media, content, search engine, brand management, community outreach, and traditional marketing programs.
  • Oversee and manage marketing vendor relationships, ensuring deliverables are met and providing status reports.
  • Grow proprietary participant database and establish participant lifecycle program.
  • Support internal and external corporate communication and manage public relations efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related discipline required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of related B2C marketing experience required with progressive increase in scope of responsibility.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing marketing professionals required.
  • Strong grasp of marketing data & analytics, from data collection to data visualization.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence others and gain buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and able to work independently while multi-tasking.
  • Superior attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Excellent personnel and team management skills including training, mentoring, and coaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clinical research, pharma/CRO, or healthcare is a big plus.
  • Experience with Marketing Automation tools.
