About the position

The Vice President of Medical Operations at Every Cure is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational execution of the organization's scientific research portfolio. This position is crucial for managing and executing complex projects, leading clinical operations, and overseeing a pipeline of drugs within the biopharmaceutical sector. The Vice President will lead a team of scientists in developing strategies to advance promising treatments and manage the progression of Every Cure's drug repurposing initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this role requires a strong partnership to ensure that drug repurposing opportunities are effectively assessed, prioritized, and evaluated through pre-clinical studies, clinical studies, and clinical trials. The ultimate goal is to generate the necessary evidence to influence clinical guidelines and ensure that effective treatments reach a broad patient population. In this role, the Vice President will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that prioritize and advance Every Cure's portfolio of repurposed treatments. This includes overseeing a team of research scientists and clinicians who focus on evaluating repurposed treatments and ensuring efficient resource utilization to advance the most promising opportunities. The Vice President will also ensure that the laboratories and research facilities partnered with Every Cure employ the best research techniques and cutting-edge technologies to validate and evaluate these treatments. Additionally, the role involves contributing to scientific papers, proposals, and presentations that showcase the organization's scientific achievements. Leadership responsibilities include hiring, performance management, and establishing departmental policies that significantly impact the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for prioritizing and advancing Every Cure's portfolio of repurposed treatments.
  • Oversee a team of research scientists and clinicians focused on prioritizing repurposed treatments and performing studies to evaluate them.
  • Ensure laboratories and research facilities are using the best research techniques and cutting-edge technologies to validate and evaluate promising repurposed treatments.
  • Contribute to scientific papers, proposals, and presentations that highlight the organization's scientific accomplishments.
  • Lead and direct the work of employees, including hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department or function.
  • Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in related fields, with a strong foundation in operational excellence, management, and leadership.
  • Experience managing a portfolio or pipeline of medications for a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
  • Experience managing and building complex operational systems in the medical field is required.
  • Extensive program management experience in the field of drug development.
  • Proven ability to oversee the application of research techniques and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Clinical operations and/or clinical development experience with registries and clinical trials.
