About the position

The Vice President of Operations and Planning at The Morton Arboretum will play a pivotal role in leading the organization through a significant growth and transformation phase. This inaugural position will focus on reconceptualizing and implementing a comprehensive multi-year site plan for the Arboretum's 1,700 acres, enhancing accessibility, inclusivity, and functionality for visitors and researchers. The Vice President will provide strategic leadership across core functions including facilities, information technology, sustainability, and site planning, while overseeing risk management and collaborating with the leadership team and Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year site plan for the Arboretum's 1,700 acres.
• Provide strategic leadership for facilities, information technology, sustainability, and site planning and design.
• Oversee risk management across the organization.
• Collaborate with the Board of Trustees and the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
• Lead initiatives to create more accessible and inclusive spaces for visitors and researchers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of executive-level experience in operations and planning.
• Deep expertise in planning and operations within complex institutions.
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
