About the position

As a Vice President of Operations at Company, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational aspects of our East Coast Team. Reporting directly to the President, you will manage a team of two to four site Project Managers, guiding them in their efforts to ensure successful project execution. Your responsibilities will include direct involvement in managing project construction activities, where you will work closely with site Project Managers to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance project outcomes. In addition to overseeing construction activities, you will assist in job cost analysis for all projects, ensuring profitability and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Your role will also encompass estimating bids for East Coast projects, procurement, scheduling, and maintaining strict cost control measures. Effective communication will be key, as you will liaise with site Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and joint venture partners to coordinate efforts and ensure that all parties are aligned in their objectives. Quality and safety are paramount in our operations, and you will be responsible for maintaining adherence to these standards across all projects. Your extensive experience in the geotechnical specialty construction field will be invaluable as you lead your team in delivering extraordinary projects that meet the high expectations of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage between two to four site Project Managers and their site teams.
  • Assist in managing project construction activities with site Project Managers and implement improvements where needed.
  • Oversee job cost analysis on all projects to ensure profitability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist with estimating East Coast bids, procurement, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Communicate effectively with site Project Managers and assist them with subcontractors, vendors, and joint venture partners.
  • Coordinate efforts of all parties involved in projects, including owners, architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or similar.
  • 20 or more years' experience in Drilled Shaft installation/construction.
  • 15 or more years' experience functioning as the responsible project manager.
  • 5 or more years' experience functioning as the responsible estimator.
  • Experienced in construction of Cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) Piles (2' dia. to 10' dia.), Support of Excavation systems, including vertical soldier piles and bracing elements (tieback anchors, internal bracing elements, etc.), Micro and/or Mini-piles, and other below grade foundation systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
