About the position

Sage Restaurant Concepts (SRC) is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead our team in delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences that resonate with the communities we serve. This role is pivotal in developing and managing cost-effective operations that not only meet but exceed guest expectations through high-quality service in a welcoming atmosphere. The Vice President of Operations will oversee all corporate service responsibilities, focusing on sales growth, business development, and team empowerment. In this position, you will work closely with management teams to foster a fun yet professional team environment. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring teams towards success, ensuring that communication of needs and results is consistent with leadership. You will hold direct reports accountable to the highest standards, driving action and results across all operations. Your expertise will be essential in managing organizational processes, implementing change, and enhancing guest experiences through increased guest counts and revenue generation. You will also be responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels, reinforcing the importance of thorough training and onboarding, and holding leaders accountable for performance reviews and improvement plans. Financial performance is a key focus, as you will develop and review yearly unit-level budgets, monitor cost control centers, and ensure timely submission of financial reports. Additionally, you will collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective local marketing strategies and ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures. Your role will also involve conducting property inspections, overseeing transitions of new properties, and staying updated on industry trends to keep our portfolio relevant and competitive.

Responsibilities

  • Create a team atmosphere among staff that is fun, lively, and professional.
  • Mentor teams to success while regularly communicating needs and results to leadership.
  • Hold direct reports accountable to high standards and drive results.
  • Manage organizational processes and implement change effectively.
  • Work with management teams to increase guest counts and revenues.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels across all departments.
  • Reinforce the importance of thorough training and onboarding of employees.

  • Maintain strong financial performance and achieve financial goals.
  • Develop and sign off on yearly unit level budgets for review by the COO.
  • Monitor and maintain all cost control centers and develop cost savings programs.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports and implement corrective plans as needed.
  • Implement all Standard Operating Policies and Procedures across operations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop effective local marketing programs.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment and proper handling of products.
  • Conduct walk-through inspections to assess property upkeep and identify repair needs.
  • Oversee transitions of new properties and renovations within the portfolio.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to keep the portfolio relevant.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Five years of experience as a senior food and beverage executive in high-volume settings.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and ethical values.
  • Knowledge of food service health and sanitation regulations.
  • Experience with multi-million-dollar profit and loss responsibility.
  • Ability to train and interact effectively with management and associates.
  • Proficient in reading reports and using computer systems.
