About the position

The Vice President of Operations (VPOP) at Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations of the Houston office. The VPOP will lead the team, ensuring high-quality engineering services, strategic growth, and adherence to company policies. This position involves planning, directing, and coordinating operational activities while collaborating with executive leadership to achieve firmwide goals and enhance client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise design and inspection to ensure adherence to IEI policies and procedures.
• Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet firmwide goals.
• Communicate and implement operational policies, practices, standards, and security measures.
• Develop forecasts for staffing needs in comparison with available capacity.
• Ensure all projects comply with Quality Control guidelines.
• Monitor clients' project delivery goals and proactively identify issues.
• Safeguard the firm's exposure against risks associated with scope and fees.
• Secure executed contracts and agreements prior to project inception.
• Establish and administer the Houston Market/Office budget.
• Manage technical staff and coordinate with other office leaders.
• Oversee contract negotiations with clients regarding scope, fees, and schedule.
• Regularly update Executive Vice President on office performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of industry-related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in upper management.
• Active registered Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer license.
