About the position

The Vice President of Operations at YMCA of Central Ohio is responsible for overseeing the successful operations of Community Centers, focusing on membership, program development, volunteer recruitment, staff supervision, and community relations. This leadership role involves collaborating with co-leaders and the Chief Operating Officer to implement strategic goals and enhance service delivery to members and program participants. The position emphasizes accountability for financial results and operational excellence while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful operations of Community Centers, including membership and program development.
  • Supervise, develop, and implement a full range of programming and community outreach.
  • Provide direction and accountability for Association initiatives within the YMCA's operational framework.
  • Lead and counsel centers on programming best practices and community connections.
  • Monitor financial reports to ensure revenue targets are met and expenses are controlled.
  • Partner with the CFO to align financial performance with Association goals.
  • Build relationships with other Business line leaders to foster collaboration and support.
  • Grow and develop cause-driven leaders through coaching and professional development plans.
  • Ensure the highest levels of safety and performance for all center operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, human services, business, or social services, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight or more years of progressive professional experience managing multiple product lines and services.
  • YMCA or non-profit experience preferred.
  • YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred, or obtain within 2 years.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and viewpoints from all social and economic segments.
