About the position

The Vice President of Operations at Wharton-Smith will lead the Commercial Construction Business Units, ensuring competitiveness and profitable growth while fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment among team members. Responsibilities

  • Steer the Commercial Construction Business Units towards success and operational excellence.
  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration and empowerment among team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all operational areas of the business.
  • Run key business unit meetings, ensuring metrics are set and met.
  • Assist in developing strategic and tactical goals and drive them to completion.
  • Create and manage data and analytic processes to support operational goals.
  • Contribute to the creation of meaningful metrics and drive accountability.
  • Support total customer experience and resolve problems effectively.
  • Act as a mentor and confidant in decision-making processes.
  • Ensure the organization focuses on learning and reinforcing success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in a related role as an Operations Manager for a Commercial Construction Company with revenue of $1B+.
  • Strong leadership skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Strategic and tactical thinker with mental acuity to solve problems quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Process-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and drive profitable growth.
