About the position

The Vice President of Operations & Risk is responsible for leading critical operational and risk programs that support the core strategic goals of the credit union. This role ensures effective, safe, and compliant policies and platforms for both members and team members, overseeing the Risk, Operations, and Compliance departments to maintain compliance with laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively monitor, track, and analyze company-wide operational, compliance, and fraud activities, directing and implementing organizational processes to maximize efficiencies.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee operational activities to ensure efficient project delivery and testing to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage and enhance facility and building security controls, overseeing the Facilities Manager for successful management of building projects and maintenance.
  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity and compliance with regulatory requirements, including hiring, performance monitoring, and staff development.
  • Facilitate a Compliance Management System, ensuring compliance with all operational regulations and overseeing the Audit Plan execution.
  • Drive organizational leadership understanding of applicable laws and regulations affecting Credit Union compliance requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the vendor risk-management program, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulatory guidance.
  • Provide oversight of operations card-management, balancing member experience with minimizing card losses.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing operations and risk in the banking or credit union industry.
  • Experience in a director level role or above.
