About the position

The Vice President of Operations at USX Federal Credit Union is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the credit union to enhance employee effectiveness and performance. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with regulations, supporting sales and service initiatives, and fostering a member service-oriented culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the branch office network by supervising AVP of Operations, EFT and Compliance Managers, providing adequate resources for smooth operations.
  • Act as a resource empowering managers to resolve member concerns and perform complex and non-routine transactions, ensuring a member service focused culture.
  • Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure the Credit Union maintains compliance with Federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
  • Develop relevant procedures to ensure that all Credit Union products and services are professionally distributed, effectively tracked and measured and that quality operational support is provided to all staff and members.
  • Develop and maintain policies as related to Bank Secrecy Act and Red Flag Program.
  • Work with Senior Management team in identifying trends in the industry, instituting new programs or products and evaluating products and services.
  • Hire, direct, recommend promotions, transfers, salary adjustments and evaluate the employee performance for direct reports to ensure quality of work and services to members and coworkers.
  • Represent the Credit Union as a point of contact with representatives of the community, select employee groups and business partners.
  • Oversee member problem resolution.
  • Work with auditors and examiners on annual audits and examinations.
  • Participate in establishing and implementing Credit Union strategic initiatives as they relate to operations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • At least five years of progressive relevant work experience preferably in a credit union or community-banking environment, with a desired emphasis in compliance, EFT, debit/credit products.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Self-directed individual with well-developed interpersonal skills, effective communications skills, both written and oral, as well as time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability for independent thinking and problem solving.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable NCUA or Federal Banking regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex financial information to employees.
  • Detail oriented and possess the ability to multi-task.
  • Team driven with a willingness and proven ability to work well and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Working knowledge of core processing systems and personal computer applications.
