About the position

The Vice President of Operations is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the efficient and profitable operations of skilled nursing facilities across Tennessee, Kentucky, and South Carolina. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in long-term care, particularly as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. The Vice President will ensure that all facilities comply with company policies as well as state and federal regulations, while also striving to provide the highest quality of care possible. This role involves complete oversight of the home facility and all assigned facilities, necessitating a strong leadership presence and strategic vision. In this capacity, the Vice President will lead the planning process to develop goals focused on quality care, employee retention, and financial performance. They will prepare annual budgets for approval by senior regional management and direct the activities of clinical, administrative, and service departments within the home facility. The Vice President will implement control systems to ensure accountability across all departments and represent the facility at community meetings, promoting programs through various media channels. Monitoring performance to achieve established goals and making necessary corrective actions will be a key responsibility. The Vice President will also be involved in census development and marketing for the region, ensuring that all employees receive proper orientation and ongoing training to meet the organization’s quality goals. Regular operational calls will be led by the Vice President, and travel to assigned facilities will be necessary to provide support and training as needed. Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Lead the planning process to develop goals for quality care, employee retention, and financial performance.
  • Prepare annual budgets for approval by senior regional management.
  • Direct and guide the activities of clinical, administrative, and service departments.
  • Implement control systems to ensure accountability across all departments.
  • Represent the facility at community meetings and promote programs through various media.
  • Monitor performance for achievement of goals and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Responsible for census development and marketing for the region.
  • Ensure all employees receive orientation and ongoing training to meet quality goals.
  • Lead monthly operational calls and travel as necessary to assigned facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health care administration, business administration, finance, or a clinical specialty.
  • Licensed by the state as a Nursing Home Administrator.
  • Seven years of experience as a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in long-term care.
  • Five years of experience as a Regional Director of Operations.
  • Knowledge of Long Term Care and Medicaid and Medicare regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work with a large staff and diverse client base.
  • Strong communication skills with residents, family members, and all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to react decisively in emergency situations and organize priorities effectively.
