About the position

The Vice President of Operations at Lummus Group is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing manufacturing, supply chain management, and quality across multiple plants. This position aims to drive continuous improvement through lean solutions and cost reduction initiatives while implementing best practices in manufacturing. The VP of Operations will execute the business plan, coordinate internal resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, all while fostering a culture of innovation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations with a focus on quantitative metrics and KPIs.
  • Set and monitor operational targets for the plants and act on variances.
  • Manage the cost center budget and capital expenditures for operations.
  • Partner with purchasing and supply chain management to achieve annual savings targets.
  • Evaluate global sourcing options and manage logistics, cost, and quality.
  • Establish policies for material usage, capacity planning, and production methods.
  • Implement quality programs and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering to enhance manufacturing processes and create cost savings.
  • Mentor operations management staff and promote effective communication and teamwork.
  • Set talent strategy for staffing and succession planning in partnership with HR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience in managing various manufacturing environments based on demand.
  • Strong entrepreneurial and business acumen with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey company growth goals and engage teams.
  • Ability to initiate and lead change management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment, including evenings and weekends.
