About the position

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for managing and coordinating the operations teams to achieve established operational goals within Dream Finders Homes. This role involves overseeing construction activities, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards while fostering relationships with various departments and trade partners.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate operations teams to meet or exceed established goals.
  • Generate and implement construction field policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with sales, accounting, purchasing, land development, and production departments to achieve division goals.
  • Supervise construction activities directly or through area managers, project managers, and superintendents.
  • Oversee field operations and ensure quality control of homes built to meet company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Review performance of subcontractors and conduct site visits for quality assurance.
  • Develop and control departmental budgets.
  • Analyze customer satisfaction surveys and implement solutions for improvement.
  • Drive cost-effective product processes and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Promote team relationships and accountability with trade partners.
  • Collaborate with management on product selection and market understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction or related field from a four-year college or university.
  • Valid driver's license and a vehicle.
  • Ten years of experience in homebuilding.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting or finance.
  • Experience in a leadership role involving operations, sales, and production.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
