About the position

The Vice President of Operations at Diverse Talent, LLC is a leadership role focused on overseeing the operational processes of the Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center. This position is crucial for ensuring that the center provides nurturing and educational early childhood programs while maintaining regulatory compliance and staff development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and management, with a commitment to supporting children and families living in poverty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management over the organization, establishing policies and procedures that reflect the mission and core values.
  • Manage all staff and child/staff ratios to ensure effective operations.
  • Collaborate with the Enrollment Specialist to maintain enrollment capacity and ensure funding for children in attendance.
  • Conduct weekly spot checks on classroom attendance and meet with area directors to address attendance issues.
  • Work with area directors and education coordinators to ensure staff compliance with policies and required educational training.
  • Address parent concerns and develop action plans to support families and the center.
  • Assist area directors in supporting children with high behavioral needs and create action plans.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in direct child/parent interface, including supervision/management in early childhood settings.
  • Knowledge of Missouri Accreditation and Head Start/Early Head Start Standards with a proven ability to meet these requirements.
  • Experience in urban, nonprofit settings is advantageous.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget/resource management, and strategic planning.
  • Training and/or certifications in process improvement and quality assurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively relate to parents, children, and colleagues.
