About the position

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse workflow and overseeing the driver fleet, focusing on recruiting, safety, compliance, and training. This role involves counseling staff, achieving corporate goals, and ensuring profitability while fostering a safe and inclusive working environment. The position requires effective problem-solving and operational strategy improvement based on industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise associates including scheduling, training, development counseling, performance management, and problem resolution.
• Conduct department meetings.
• Manage inventory dollar levels to achieve optimum cash flow and service level.
• Develop budgets for the Warehouse Department on a yearly basis and monitor monthly.
• Manage department within budgetary guidelines.
• Oversee the organizing of the warehouse inventory on a quarterly basis.
• Manage operations budget development and reporting.
• Monitor staff in budget review and forecasting.
• Oversee truck leasing agreement(s).
• Interact with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and quality manner; ensure questions are answered accurately and promptly.
• Establish procedures to maximize the efficiency of the operations department.
• Solve operational problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with minimal standardization.
• Analyze work-related situations and make effective decisions.
• Improve operational strategies and processes based on knowledge of the food distribution industry.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 6 - 10 years in Foodservice operations or related area with supervisory experience.
