About the position

The Vice President of Operations will provide strategic direction and oversight for the operational and financial performance of properties within the company. This role involves leading a team of asset managers, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and fostering a positive work environment. The VP will also engage in financial forecasting, budget development, and support new acquisitions, all while promoting operational excellence and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial performance and operational efficiency of properties to maximize revenue.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and budget development to achieve specific owner goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of asset managers.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with asset managers to address challenges and support problem resolution.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment to maintain high employee morale.
  • Provide strategic leadership to align team efforts with company objectives and values.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a robust company infrastructure that supports growth.
  • Review and update company policies to ensure consistency and adherence to core values.
  • Monitor policy compliance and standardization, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Conduct critical assessments to identify performance indicators that require corrective action.
  • Follow up with asset managers to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure properties meet or exceed key performance indicators.
  • Provide insights during the pre-acquisition phase and assist in the due diligence process.
  • Support post-acquisition activities to ensure successful integration of assets into the company portfolio.
  • Engage in new acquisitions and business development by providing analyses and evaluations.
  • Monitor and drive growth within the company.
  • Lead the company’s public excellence initiative to uphold and promote the brand.
  • Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and improve the resident experience.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements relevant to property management.
  • Recruit and select personnel for all operational functions under supervision.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes and practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role preferably within a service-based industry, such as hospitality.
  • Proven track record in overseeing financial and operational performance, managing budgets, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Financial expertise, including experience in financial forecasting, budget management, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across various disciplines, such as construction, IT, and accounting.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with a capacity to inspire and develop team members.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable to changing environments and skilled in managing competing priorities and problem-solving effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
