About the position

The Vice President of Operations (VPO) at US Anesthesia Partners is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the organization, ensuring effective management and strategic planning to achieve financial strength and operational efficiency. This role involves leading a large physician practice management organization, developing growth strategies, and maintaining operational controls while fostering a positive company culture. The VPO will work closely with leadership to expand business lines and represent the organization to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a large physician practice management organization.
  • Oversee strategic planning and execution to surpass revenue, profitability, and business goals.
  • Ensure effectiveness of internal and external processes for the division.
  • Develop timely and accurate reports on the operating condition of the company.
  • Oversee management teams for billing, collections, credentialing, information technology, and scheduling.
  • Lead the development and implementation of growth strategies and processes.
  • Attract, recruit, retain, and motivate the management team.
  • Mentor team members and support their career development.
  • Foster a success-oriented and accountable company culture.
  • Evaluate and implement new practice management systems.
  • Oversee compliance auditing in conjunction with Corporate Compliance/Risk Management.
  • Develop understanding of financial reporting and operations of assigned divisions.
  • Participate in developing responses to RFPs and presenting proposals.
  • Work with leadership to develop new business and expand current business lines.
  • Represent the organization with customers, shareholders, and business partners.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of healthcare management experience in a large medical group or integrated hospital delivery system with revenues of $100+ million.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in Accounts Receivable management, budgeting, and resource planning in an automated environment.
  • Minimum four years of experience managing healthcare operation staff.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, billing, collections, and process management.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with presentations to senior management and boards.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
