About the position

As the Vice President of Operations at Becho, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in leading our East Coast team from our New Rochelle, NY office. This position is crucial for overseeing the operational aspects of our projects, ensuring that we maintain our reputation for extraordinary performance in the geotechnical specialty construction field. You will report directly to the President and will be responsible for managing a team of two to four site Project Managers along with their respective site teams. Your leadership will be essential in guiding these teams through the complexities of project construction activities, ensuring that all operations align with our high standards of quality and safety. In this role, you will be directly involved in job cost analysis for all projects, working closely with site Project Managers to ensure profitability and identify areas for improvement. Your expertise will also extend to assisting with the estimating of East Coast bids, procurement, scheduling, and cost control. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to liaise with site Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and joint venture partners to coordinate efforts across all phases of work. You will also be responsible for maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards, which are paramount in our industry. Responsibilities

  • Manage between two to four site Project Managers and their site teams.
  • Assist in managing project construction activities with site Project Managers and make improvements where needed.
  • Assist in managing job cost analysis on all projects with site Project Managers to ensure profitability and identify improvements.
  • Assist with estimating East Coast bids, procurement, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Communicate effectively with site Project Managers and assist them with subcontractors, vendors, and joint venture partners.
  • Coordinate efforts of all parties involved in projects, including the owner, architect, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution.
  • 18 or more years' experience in Drilled Shaft installation/construction.
  • 15 or more years' experience functioning as the responsible project manager.
  • 5 or more years' experience functioning as the responsible estimator.
  • Experienced in construction of Cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) Piles, Support of Excavation systems, Micro and/or Mini-piles, and other below grade foundation systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
