About the position

The Vice President of Operations is a pivotal role within Elite Dental Partners, serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. This position is responsible for leading and mentoring the operations leaders across the company and its dental practices. The Vice President will collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to plan, coordinate, and oversee all operational activities, ensuring that the operations are optimized to meet the evolving needs of the organization. The role requires a strategic mindset to identify and implement cost-effective systems and solutions that enhance operational efficiency. In this capacity, the Vice President will establish and communicate the strategic direction of the organization's operations, working collaboratively with various divisions and departments to achieve the company's goals and objectives. The responsibilities include overseeing the operational activities of the company, developing and mentoring operational leaders, and ensuring that the operations team is well-trained and equipped with the necessary resources. The Vice President will also be responsible for ensuring that operational leadership has easy access to revenue cycle metrics and that performance metrics and goals are effectively communicated and administered. The role involves identifying and recommending cost-effective processes, technologies, and systems to streamline organizational processes and optimize resource utilization. The Vice President will establish and implement operations-related policies and practices to ensure consistent support and execution across the organization. Additionally, the position requires the development of clear communication strategies for operational processes and workflows, ensuring that all communications to the practices are accurate and consistent. The Vice President will also collaborate with finance to establish and manage operations and facilities budgets, presenting performance reports and metrics to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. Staying informed about emerging technologies and trends in operations management is also a critical aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization's operations.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversees operational activities of the company.
  • Develops, leads and mentors operational leaders.
  • Ensures operations team leaders and their teams are properly trained.
  • Responsible for ensuring operational leadership and their teams have easy electronic access to revenue cycle metrics relating to the centers.
  • Responsible for ensuring we have metrics and goals to measure performance that are well communicated and administered.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements cost effective processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, and facilities are in line with the organization's business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Develop process and workflow messaging for the field, ensuring that all communications to the practices are understandable, accurate and consistent.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Collaborates with finance to establish operations and facilities budgets and administers the budgets.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the Executive Leadership Team and or the Board of Directors.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or other healthcare-related field required.
  • At least 10 years of healthcare-related experience including 5 years in upper management/relevant leadership role required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are clear and well organized.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the dental industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
