About the position

Double Good's mission is to create joy, and we are looking for a Vice President of Operations to join our growing Operations team. The VP of Operations will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing processes and controls to lead operations within our food manufacturing facility. This role encompasses accountability for production, packaging, maintenance, warehousing, and supporting food safety and product quality programs. The VP will develop strategies and priorities for performance improvement, technological and product innovation, and management of our sustainable development program. A key aspect of this role is fostering an operational excellence culture at all levels of the organization, working closely with peers such as the head of supply chain, head of engineering and continuous improvement, head of food safety and quality, the people team, and IT. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset and be a flexible, agile leader who thrives in a positive environment. They will be effective in leading by influencing others and valuing people in building an organization. The VP will be responsible for developing and deploying a strategic manufacturing plan aligned with the overall business strategy and operational objectives. This includes ensuring manufacturing standards are met to guarantee product quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The role also involves operations P&L accountability for results and variance tracking, collaborating with peers to implement countermeasures to correct any issues. In addition, the VP will review analyses of cost, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives, providing regular updates on project progress, timelines, and critical items. Building and maintaining relationships across the company with all levels of internal and external parties is crucial, as is leveraging cultural and individual differences to maximize success and champion team decisions. The VP will ensure a safe and health-oriented work environment for all employees, fostering a culture where customer service and quality are at the heart of everyday business. Leading operational excellence will support reductions in scrap, efficiency of production lines, and reduction of manufacturing costs in a Lean Manufacturing environment, utilizing key performance indicators and benchmarking. The VP will also collaborate with the People Team to create and support skills development programs, engaging employees at all levels and developing future leaders through unique development opportunities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of diversified managerial and operations experience.
  • Experience developing a culture of lean manufacturing and operational excellence.
  • Excellent leadership skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to effectively manage, lead, and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
  • Executive level communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a high-pressure environment.
