About the position

The Vice President of Operations at Acumen will lead and oversee the payroll and billing departments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all processes. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives and strategic planning to support the company's growth and development. The VP will collaborate with various departments and manage financial oversight while fostering a high-performance culture within the teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the payroll and billing teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for payroll and billing operations to align with organizational goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in payroll and billing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and billing regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and management of payroll and billing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of payroll and billing processes.
  • Evaluate and implement payroll and billing software and systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on payroll and billing activities to senior management.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll and billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in payroll and billing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, and proficiency in payroll and billing software.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and billing regulations and best practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues.
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to improve processes.
