About the position

The Vice President of Partnerships and Operations at the National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) is a key executive leadership role responsible for guiding the strategic and operational management of NCUIH's Finance, Human Resources, and Development and Contracts divisions. This position ensures that all core divisions operate efficiently and compliantly, aligning with NCUIH's mission. The role involves overseeing budget development, process optimization, compliance, and external relationship management to support NCUIH's programs and long-term sustainability, while fostering effective fundraising strategies and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the development and implementation of NCUIH's strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Offers leadership and strategic oversight to the Development, Human Resources, and Finance Divisions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements across all operations.
  • Manages Directors across Programs, Operations, and other key departments, providing mentorship and resources.
  • Designs and enhances the functions and processes of the Partnerships and Operations Department.
  • Meets regularly with the CEO to review operations and discuss strategic adjustments.
  • Collaborates with the Executive team to shape business strategy and build staff capacity.
  • Develops and monitors policies and procedures to standardize operations.
  • Cultivates relationships with key partners, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Participates in defining and implementing programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensures departmental activities align with NCUIH's broader policies and priorities.
  • Oversees NCUIH Headquarters' logistics.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in relevant topics is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in nonprofit accounting, finance, or budgeting.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Uniform Guidance and grants management requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong accounting, finance, audit, budgetary, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Previous experience with fund accounting software and complex nonprofit budgets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Indian Country and/or knowledge of AI/AN communities and grant/development opportunities.
