About the position

The Vice President of Real Estate, Facilities, Purchasing & Contracting at East House Corporation is a senior-level leadership role responsible for overseeing real estate projects, facilities management, and procurement strategies. This position collaborates with organizational leadership to align real estate development and facility management initiatives with the organization's goals, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. The incumbent will manage the organization's real estate portfolio, lead strategic planning, and oversee procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies on real estate development and facility management.
  • Coordinate development details with construction, property management, legal, and accounting departments.
  • Evaluate potential sites and secure financing for affordable housing projects.
  • Facilitate partnerships among developers, community organizations, and governmental partners.
  • Draft and submit budgets based on work scope and resource needs.
  • Lead project management efforts, including assembling development teams and securing funding.
  • Manage project construction and resolve issues related to schedule and permits.
  • Negotiate the purchase of land and secure necessary permits for real estate projects.
  • Oversee facilities and property teams to create and monitor budgets and manage maintenance requests.
  • Prepare and make public presentations for local approvals and community support.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with MWBE and Veteran owned business goals.
  • Lead competitive bid processes and negotiate pricing for goods and services.
  • Develop strategic asset lifecycle plans and manage purchasing and disposal of equipment.
  • Safeguard compliance with procurement regulations and oversee RFQs and RFPs.
  • Lead and manage the purchasing team, setting priorities and fostering innovation.
  • Manage purchasing budgets and analyze key performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate/community development, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility in affordable housing and facilities management.
  • Proven track record of successful large-scale real estate development projects.
  • 10+ years' experience in a senior leadership role with supervision.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience involving professional-level employees.
  • Extensive knowledge of real estate development, multi-family housing, and financial structuring.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with state and federal housing funding sources and programs.
  • Familiarity with public housing programs at the federal, state, and local level.
  • Advanced knowledge of real estate law and construction processes.
