About the position

The Vice President of Research and Development is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the company's Product Development, Product Management, SQA, DevOps, and Learning Management activities. This role focuses on strategic planning, goal setting, and execution of the company's objectives while ensuring the integration of various functions to support customer needs and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct all aspects of the company's Product Development, Product Management, SQA, DevOps, and Learning Management activities.
  • Oversee, interview, hire, and train employees while planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Interact daily with heads of various departments to lead integration of their functions into a productive unit.
  • Translate business goals and product requirements into actionable development plans.
  • Ensure that development projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to and communicate company policies and procedures across the R&D teams.
  • Review and define documented processes/procedures and create necessary process improvement documents.
  • Support alignment, engagement, and integration initiatives within the teams.
  • Ensure teams have appropriate information and training to support new products/solutions.
  • Drive and lead change management projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of management experience at the product or people level.
  • Minimum of 10 years in healthcare IT or regulated industry with proven knowledge of healthcare markets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both large and small group settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, coordinating, and organizational skills.
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and show sound judgment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of contacts inside and outside of the organization.
  • Knowledgeable about HIPAA, EHR/EMR, regulations, market trends, and technology in healthcare IT.
