About the position

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Vice President of Revenue, Strategy, and Operations to serve as the Chief of Staff for the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). This role involves collaborating with the Sales Leadership team to drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and ensure effective execution of advertising sales efforts. The Vice President will focus on both long- and short-term business objectives, promoting transparency and alignment across the leadership team, while also acting as a strategic advisor and bridge between senior leadership and various teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the revenue strategic planning process, ensuring stakeholder involvement and articulating the plan to advance company goals.
  • Act as a strategic advisor and bridge between senior leadership and different teams within the organization.
  • Partner with sales leadership to develop and implement strategic goals, including revenue targets and growth initiatives.
  • Manage daily operations to reduce bottlenecks and ensure the sales team meets targets.
  • Facilitate communication between the sales team and other departments to align efforts on campaign deliverables.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and client needs to inform strategy adjustments.
  • Provide recommendations on market positioning, sales strategies, and product offerings based on data analysis.
  • Develop and drive revenue plans for large-scale strategic projects, ensuring employee understanding of changes and required actions.
  • Serve as the strategic lead for the future of advertising, synthesizing information and prioritizing projects.
  • Identify opportunities and implement best practices to streamline sales processes and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments to align revenue initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track advertising sales performance and monitor progress against goals.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in ad sales operations and sales strategy, preferably in the advertising or media industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and lead projects from conception to implementation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
