About the position

The Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Century Communities plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth within the organization. This position works closely with the Division President, Vice President of Operations, and other senior management to develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored for the local division. The ideal candidate will possess a competitive drive and internal ambition, demonstrating strategic and creative thinking to foster growth. As an inspirational leader and skillful closer, the Vice President will be responsible for hiring, training, and overseeing the sales staff, approving all sales contracts, and ensuring that sales and closing goals are consistently met. Key responsibilities include the development and execution of sales strategies, selection and training of sales personnel, and the creation of incentive programs and pricing strategies for various communities. The Vice President will negotiate all sales contracts and report sales results directly to the Division President. Collaboration with the Corporate Marketing team is essential to implement community promotions, which may include radio remotes, grand openings, and press releases. Additionally, the role involves managing traffic and sales reports, developing outreach programs to establish preferred buyer arrangements, and analyzing traffic numbers to provide actionable recommendations for improvement. The Vice President will also work closely with the Vice President of Operations and Project Managers to coordinate build times and address any outstanding construction issues. Regular reviews of the sales backlog will be conducted to ensure projected closings are achieved, while also resolving any lender or contingency issues that may arise. Maintaining a comprehensive database of competitive products, incentives, and promotions is also a critical aspect of this role, along with managing the startup process for new communities and performing additional duties as assigned by the Division President.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the local division.
  • Select, hire, and train all sales staff.
  • Create incentive programs and pricing strategies for each community.
  • Negotiate all sales contracts and report sales results to Division President.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Marketing team to implement all community promotions, including radio remotes, grand openings, press releases, and promotion planning.
  • Manage all traffic and sales reports.
  • Develop an ongoing outreach program to create preferred buyer arrangements with selected companies.
  • Analyze traffic numbers and provide recommendations to increase sales.
  • Work with the Vice President of Operations and Project Managers to coordinate build times and resolve any outstanding construction items.
  • Review sales backlog weekly to ensure projected closings are achieved, including resolving any lender or contingency issues.
  • Maintain a database of all competition products, incentives, and promotions.
  • Manage new community startup process.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of successful Sales Management experience in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
  • Previous new homebuilding sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Expertise in implementing and executing sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and social media marketing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with an executive presence: authentic, respectful, and polished.
  • Proven ability to create highly effective sales teams and lead them to success.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports or legal documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
  • Effectively maintain strong working relationships with customers, contracted agencies and workers, and other employees.
  • Adept at calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.
