About the position

The Vice President of Sales & Marketing (VP of S&M) is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue generation efforts within a hotel or hospitality organization. This position oversees sales, marketing, and revenue management strategies to meet financial goals while enhancing the brand's market presence and customer loyalty. The VP of S&M collaborates with executive leadership to align strategies with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives.
  • Lead the Sales & Marketing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee pricing strategies, revenue management, and forecasting to maximize profitability of the portfolio.
  • Set and monitor sales targets, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to optimize inventory and pricing strategies.
  • Lead brand development and positioning initiatives to strengthen market presence.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts, including social media, SEO, email campaigns, and website management.
  • Ensure all marketing efforts align with the brand identity and resonate with target audiences.
  • Cultivate relationships with key accounts, corporate clients, and travel partners to drive direct bookings and partnerships.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the brand and expand business opportunities.
  • Evaluate sales team performance and implement training programs to enhance effectiveness.
  • Work closely with operations, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment of sales and marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to the executive team regarding sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor guest feedback and work with operational teams to address service issues and enhance the customer journey.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the Marriott Brand.
  • 5 years of hotel sales and marketing experience required.
  • Prior experience working with ProfitPace, CI/TY, SFAWeb, Travel Click and other sales and marketing tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in hotel management.
