About the position

Acara Solutions is seeking a Vice President of Sales & Marketing for an aerospace manufacturing client located in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This is a direct salaried position with a salary range of $240,000 to $270,000. The role requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, particularly with experience targeting airlines and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organizations, as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The VP will be responsible for managing the Sales and Marketing team, developing strategic sales plans, and overseeing the marketing efforts to promote company products. This position is 100% onsite when not traveling, and candidates must be willing to relocate if they do not currently reside within commuting distance. The VP will be tasked with forecasting and identifying new business opportunities, developing marketing literature, managing advertising and branding efforts, and overseeing the company’s website and trade show appearances. The role also involves significant travel, estimated at 60% to 70%, including international destinations such as Europe, India, Ethiopia, and South America. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of VP-level sales management experience, with a strong emphasis on operational management and a technical background in engineering being highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in customer-facing business development roles within the aerospace manufacturing sector, demonstrating the ability to create effective sales plans and implement successful marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Sales and Marketing team, providing leadership and supervision.
  • Forecast and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop marketing literature, advertising, branding, and promotional items.
  • Manage the company website and trade show appearances.
  • Develop strategic sales plans based on company goals to promote sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Market and sell specialized company products to airline, maintenance base, OEM, and third-party customers.
  • Manage the quotation and order entry process.
  • Support marketing strategy and management tactics necessary to achieve goals.
  • Develop annual sales projections and manage the sales operating budget.
  • Maintain sales forecasts with quarterly updates and set long-term goals for internal teams.
  • Monitor and recruit representatives as required.
  • Develop, negotiate, and oversee license agreements for major product/project sales.
  • Conduct customer visits and prospecting to maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry.
  • Work with operations to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Prepare, manage, and review proposals and sales orders.
  • Manage customer service personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; Business Degree considered with sufficient technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of VP-level sales management experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a customer-facing business development position in aerospace manufacturing, targeting airlines and/or MROs in addition to OEMs.
  • Strong senior leadership experience with a history of managing director-level reports.
  • Ability to recommend creative solutions to unique customer requirements.
  • Proven ability to write effective sales plans and implement successful marketing campaigns.
  • Project management experience and ability to facilitate effective meetings.
  • Significant overseas sales experience.
