About the position

The Vice President of Sales at Organic Valley is a pivotal role responsible for leading a high-performing sales team to establish the company as a category leader in organic products. This position involves developing and executing sales strategies to capture market share, managing key customer relationships, and driving revenue growth while ensuring alignment with the cooperative's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team focused on becoming the category leader in organic products.
  • Develop execution plans to capture market share through partnerships with key retailers across the US.
  • Set and implement sales targets and strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic direction to support CROPP's roadmap.
  • Lead key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Develop timely and accurate sales volume forecasts for all accounts and channels.
  • Analyze customer profitability and develop annual sales plans and long-term strategies.
  • Provide leadership to the sales team in developing and executing sales plans.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts and implement Joint Business Planning processes.
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity to provide feedback to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 10 years of executive sales management experience in organic foods sales.
  • Excellent follow-through, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills with high-volume accounts.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans for business growth.
  • Financial acumen and trade management experience required.
  • Experience managing and coaching sales teams and brokers.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing private label and branded products.
  • Proficient in dairy supply chain management from production to consumer products.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with key customer personnel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient knowledge of Organic Valley products and the dairy category preferred.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills required.
