About the position

The Vice President of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance. The VP collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services, manages vendor relationships, and identifies opportunities for process improvements. Additionally, the position includes monitoring key performance indicators, analyzing data for operational excellence, and executing plans focused on contract services and physician preference areas while maximizing business diversity opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains a continuous improvement program for all supply chain functions.
  • Makes strategic recommendations and executes a course of action for supply expense management and supply chain operations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians and leadership.
  • Responsible for the proper accounting and disbursement of funds owed to vendors for goods or services.
  • Assures proper protocols exist for authorization of transactions in regard to district policy and budget requirements.
  • Partners with Finance to develop standardized documents and processes for quantifying savings solutions.
  • Responsible for all procurement activities, purchasing compliance, inventory management, and vendor relationships.
  • Evaluates and documents the flow of material through the hospital network.
  • Identifies variabilities in sourcing, logistics, and inventory management, recommending process redesign for improvements.
  • Establishes performance metrics for supply-intensive departments to measure productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Leverages materials management technology solutions to create efficiencies and ensure information linkages to other systems.
  • Quantifies the health network's total cost for materials distribution and develops targets for cost reduction.
  • Develops training and mentoring programs for staff supporting materials functions.
  • Assures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Reviews and approves all inventory write-offs and adjustments.
  • Provides leadership over specific business segments by managing projects and developing new programs.
  • Leads budgeting and resource allocation decisions, ensuring financial performance meets or exceeds budget.
  • Participates in the development and oversight of new projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Develops professional relationships with relevant entities and individuals.
  • Defines roles and responsibilities for direct reports, promoting professional growth and accountability.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in supply chain management, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or healthcare management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Active membership in the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 plus years of prior experience with Lawson Supply Chain modules and organizational transformation of Supply Chain Management in an ERP environment.
  • Experience in healthcare supply chain operations.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professionals (CMRP).
