About the position

The Vice President of Tissue Operations (VPTO) at LifeShare Network, Inc. is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of Tissue Recovery Services and the Donation Services Center. This position focuses on optimizing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and leading high-performing teams to enhance tissue recovery processes. The VPTO will play a crucial role in driving the organization's mission to save and enhance lives through organ and tissue donation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership and strategic vision for the Tissue Recovery Services and Donation Services Center, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with clinical standards.
  • Oversee the strategic direction, planning, and contract management for key operational functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient resource use.
  • Lead and support leadership teams responsible for day-to-day operations, focusing on high-level strategic initiatives that optimize tissue recovery processes and outcomes.
  • Oversee external partnerships with key stakeholders such as funeral homes and medical examiners, ensuring positive relationships and effective collaboration.
  • Provide oversight to the management of clinical inventory and supplies, ensuring a strategic approach to supply chain operations.
  • Oversee internal transportation logistics, focusing on strategic planning and optimization for efficient recovery and delivery timelines.
  • Guide the development of growth strategies for all tissue operations and work with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and industry best practices, driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (BS, BA, BSN or equivalent).
  • Master's degree strongly preferred (MHA, MBA, MSN).
  • Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience, including at least 5 years in healthcare management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the tissue recovery field, with expertise in tissue screening and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including hospital staff and donor families.
  • Strong operational and project management skills, along with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Experience working in a call center environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to drive strategic decisions and planning.
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in organ procurement organizations (OPO) or tissue processing.
  • Experience in a call center environment.
